WHAT IS OUR GOAL THIS SEASON?
Our goal this season is to win another district title. We have one of the best team chemistry and a good core group of players. As well as that, we have strong leadership from Coach Davison, Coach Kwofie, Coach McGilbra, our Team Captains Eric Romero and Ian Vuong, and Co-Captains Edgar Nuñez and Michael Ordoñez.
Our Coaches
Coach J. Davison
Coach Jeremy Davison coaches soccer because of his pure love for the game. Initially, he started as a Middle School coach before moving to junior varsity coach at Lamar High School. After two years, Davison was able to take over the head coach position. He has worked for HISD for sixteen years, mainly at Lamar High School.
Davison has led the program to heights unseen including; International play, multiple district titles (4), State playoff appearances, Bi-district titles (4), and Area finalist (4) finishes. He has the most district titles in Lamar High School program history. Most recently he was voted 2022 Coach of the Year by his District 6A Coaches.
Davison holds a Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University and he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas Tech University in 2006. He aspires to be an Athletic Director one day, he currently teaches Business in the magnet program at Lamar.
Davison is a native Houstonian and Lamar Alumnus; he takes pride in his roots and in educating his community. He strives for honor, success, and integrity in all he does. Davison enjoys traveling and family time with his wife, Sara, and his young daughter, Juliana.

Coach F. Kwofie
Coach Francis Kwofie is the assistant coach to the varsity team and the coach of the freshman and junior varsity team. He is a native of Ghana and loves his National team. He was heartbroken when Ghana was cheated out of the World Cup. His favorite EPL is Manchester United.
Our Philosophy
Coach Davison wants to bring an element of who he is and what he values to the soccer program. Soccer is a global game, so his goal is for Lamar soccer to have a global reach. The goal of this program is to provide players with more than just an understanding of the sport. A lot of the program is understanding what it takes to be a man; Davison aims to mature boys and help them grow into young men. His goal is to teach the players responsibility, sacrifice, and accountability both on and off the field.
"No matter what, we have to hold ourselves accountable to things we can control (and sometimes to things we can't control). The overall goal is to teach our players to make the right decisions when they need to while also teaching them a winning mentality."
